... Wildlife Refuge, which was on our way to Des Moines. /we drove through. Pretty, but we didn't see wildlife. Beautiful flowers, though. We ate at Waterfront Seafood Restaurant. Tried walleye for the first time, yummy! Now on to Deadwood. We're going to follow the Lewis and Clark Trail. Bill is a blast to travel with, he knows lots and takes off the beaten trail. See you!

... and back along Scenic 24 to CO Springs. Our CO Springs hotel had the best pool and I know the kids would have enjoyed our original plan to spend 2 nites (IN A ROW) at this spot. We loved our train ride and got out to explore a little before driving but if I could do it again I would suggest saving the Academy and Gods for another visit so we could reach Amarillo by dinner.
