We were not excited about Vergennes. The water fall was nice, the town green community concert was cute, but the river was brown, the town was not vibrant and it was too hot. So we left early in the morning to make our way south to the Lake Champlain Bridge that was rebuilt and dedicated just a year ago. The trip down this narrow part of the lake was spectacular with the Adirondacks towering over us on our right and the ...

... Grand Army of The Republic Highway' - Star Wars fans take note! We looked, but alas Sherrie is still on the lookout for her elusive moose, which keeps on being promised to her on the 'moose crossing' road signs. Even Alex noticed how inexpensive his breakfast was - only about $3.65 for the largest pancake he had ever seen.Rob joined us for the tail end of breakfast before we headed off to ...

Mallett's Bay is located on the 40 mile Island Line Trail. We biked about 12 miles of this beautiful, well maintained trail that includes waterfront and parks which connects Burlington to South Hero Island. A large portion of this trail is a former Rutland Railroad railbed (stopped running in the 1960s) which includes a very long causeway across Malletts Bay. Many people were out riding on this beautiful sunny ...

Back to Vermont in Malletts Bay

Malletts Bay is a popular vacation spot with campgrounds and four big marinas. We chose Champlain Marina because Linda and Brian on Splashdown (met in Sorel) stayed here 21 days and really liked it. The cruise across the lake was beautiful even though it was hazy and breezy. ...
