Would never stay there again! We were quoted certain price's for our room.
And then when we got there they were different. We had reserved two rooms one for my husband and I and the other for friend's. Tried to call and cancel one room because our friend's couldn't go. They needed 72 hrs. notice, which by the way was fine. So I called on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday also but they said their computer was done and couldn't do it,but not too worry we wouldn't be charged for that room. So that was fine. When we got there they had taken it upon them selve's to charge two room deposit's to our credit card for the first two night's of our stay instead od canceling the one room like we requested. But the real big deal was when the girl behind the desk said you owe us $596.10 for the remaining 3 nights that we planned to stay. Well we paid the amount and while we were unpacking our suitcase's and everything else I thought how can we have owed that much for 3 night's when we were quoted $104.00 a night for Wed. Thurs. and Sun. and $114.00 a night for Fri. and Sat. And need I remind you we had already had 2 deposits of $114.00 put on our credit card for reserving two room's of which I had called ahead to cancel the one. So now I go back to the lobby and the girl was nice enough to refund $130.80. After I explained to her we should have only been charged for 3 more nights. Which she should have known that from the start. But then you figure, we still were ripped off because 2 nights on our credit card of $114.00 a night is what $228.00 and 3 nights sure couldn't have been $596.10. So are total was $824.10 for 5 night's stay and they refunded a $130.80 but really they owe us more. And naturally we paid with cash and they told us that we didn't pay that amount. It doesn't take a really smart person to figure we were just plain ripped off wouldn't want to be in their shoe's trying to get a good night sleep knowing I have to make a living by ripping people off!!!!!!!!!! Will never recomend anyone to stay there!
wow!!! i stayed here 2 years ago and this place was a mess. I had to call room service 5 times before they came and cleaned the black dust off the fans. and to top it off they booked 2 family reunions during my week stay so it was very crowded and very noisy. if anything book a direct beach room. if you are willign to spend the money stay at the holiday inn and suites...
We stayed at the Days Inn over Memorial Day weekend and we thought the hotel was good for the rates we paid. The pool was nice and our room was clean. We are planning to go 2005 Memorial Day Weekend and we are staying oceanfront this time. I hope that it is just as nice. We had no party animals at our end of the hotel.
Do you go to a hotel to party all night or to sleep?
My husband and I travelled to Ocean City, MD in order to experience a relaxing couple of days at the beach. The beach experience was wonderful! The hotel left alot to be desired. First of all...our room looked as though it had not been cleaned in a very long time. The clock radio in our room did not work. The microwave was in bad shape. We were afraid to use it for fear of it short circuiting out. The worst part of the whole ordeal was the extremely loud noises into the late evening hours (late meaning 2:00 am and beyond). We were placed in a room streetside and next to the hotel bar. Lots of loud music, loud drunk people and heavy traffic noise.
Don't waste your money on this hotel. We have travelled to alot of places and have never stayed in such a horrible hotel.
Not exactly what was expected for the price...
We stayed at the Days Inn Oceanfront in Ocean City, MD over the August 28-29 weekend. We paid extra for an oceanfront room. It was nice because we could just step right out onto the boardwalk right from our patio. The staff was polite and the hotel was in a great location.
On to the negatives...We reserved a non-smoking room but got a smoking room. When this was brought up to the front desk, we simply got a sorry about that...no resolution. I recommend bringing a printed copy of your confirmed reservation as proof. The room of course, smelled of cigarette smoke and was not real clean. There were poorly repaired holes in the walls and there were cigarette butts on and around the patio. As I was checking out, I realized that we paid $100 more than other guests who were not oceanfront...alot to pay for a few feet difference...
But all in all, our stay was nice. It was a semi-clean, quiet and great location at a price!
Don't Waste Your Money!!
I would never stay here again! Over Memorial weekend we spent 3 horrific nights in a room wedged between 2 groups of party animals. Two nights in a row we put up with these people damaging furniture on the patio along with being drunk, loud, obnoxious, and obsene.
Called the front desk both nights without any results and talked to the front desk at checkout. I felt like I "was" talking to the desk for all the attention the 2 girls gave me! It was just a terrible experience. We go to Ocean City at least once each year and have never stayed at such a terrible hotel!
Could Be Better
Stayed here for 8 days at the end of June with my husband and two children. We had a reservation for a oceanfront room. They let us check in early at 2:00. I asked for a room with a private balcony (a few rooms have no divider between the balcony) They said no problem and gave us our keys and free continental breakfast tickets. We went up to the room, (which was on the 3rd. floor) to check it out first. The room's balcony was semi private, a divider on one side only. Plus the carpet looked badly stained in the room and the balcony wall had green on it. (From the sea air??) Went back to the front desk and told them it was a semi private balcony, they apologized and gave us a new room on the second floor. We went up to check it out first and it was alot better than the first room. Carpet had no stains and the balcony was totally private. (And no green!) The room was in good condition except for one part of the wall paper by the front door was starting to peel. Our room had two double beds an armoire with a tv and a small table with two chairs. The mattresses are very old and when you lay on them you totally sink in!!!!! The whole wall facing the ocean is a huge sliding glass door, which by the way was gross...it looked like it had not been cleaned for months!!!!! (Kinda stupid if you ask me since that is the best part of the room, and the reason you shell out the big bucks for it!!!!) Went out and bought some Windex & paper towels from CVS which is not too far away. Let's just say when the glass door is clean the view from the room is breathtaking!!!!! (It was never cleaned by housekeeping the whole time we were there. I had to clean it) Out on the balcony you have two plastic green chairs and a matching small end table. The balcony is a good size and overlooks the boardwalk. Called down to the front desk to ask for extra pillows, when they arrived one of them had a brown liquid stain on it (Ewww!!!) and my husband handed it back to the man who brought it and was like "Could we get a CLEAN pillow????" Three mornings there was no hot water, so we had to wait untill mid day or night to get showers. (Not too great when you have plans for the day!!) Each time I would call down to tell them there was no hot water, they would apologize and say it would take a couple of hours to fix, but no one would bother to let anyone know when it was back up and running. Housekeeping would come in everyday and change the sheets and give us clean towels and that was about it!!! The bathroom was NEVER cleaned while we were there. (THAT WAS 8 DAYS, so back to CVS to buy cleaning products for the bathroom!!) I also had to leave a note for them to please vacuum the floor! (CVS didn't sell vacuums! LOL It was vacuumed once, two days after we got there, but then that was it till I wrote the note, and I did leave a tip for housekeeping EVERY day.) The end stairwell had beer bottles in it from the time we checked in to the time we checked out. NOBODY PICKED THEM UP!!!! The middle stairwell was very dirty but they were painting it while we were there. The continental breakfast consists of toast, one kind of cereal, mini muffins, donut holes, melon, cantalope, sour oj and rank coffee. (We ended up getting our coffee at the Dunkin' Donuts down the road a few blocks.) The waitress was nice and there is a young boy who works there who was GREAT, really nice and would get you anything you needed. They have two outdoor pools, one is heated, that's the one we went to. Nice pool, lots of lounge chairs and tables with umbrella's. Music is piped into the area which was nice. The kiddie pool was gross, diefinitely needed to be cleaned!!!!!! So if you stay here you should definitely check the room out first and you might want to bring some cleaning products. I know the people who got our room after us probably had the cleanest room in the hotel!
I've stayed here two years, May/June 2002 and 2003, in a row with my husband and young son. It's a decent place to stay given its rates (relative to other hotel rates in the area). No frills, except for the continental breakfast and two pools. It was clean, though you can tell the carpet has probably gone through a lot. The 1-bedroom apartment we stayed in the last time had a tiny bathroom, and we always found a couple of ants around in there, but all in all, it was a decent stay.
Better than Plim Plaza (what a horror that was!!). It's similar to other Days Inn I've stayed at. I'd stay here again since there are few hotels on the boardwalk with 1 bedroom suites at a decent rate.
Not worth the money
We always rented a condo for a week, but decided just to go for a few days and stay in a nice hotel. The days inn was priced the same as most of the other nice hotels and had a continental breakfast and private oceanfront balconies. Well when we got there, the balcony was not private so the manager checked another room but that balcony was not private either. However, I took that room because the rug was cleaner.
We had non smoking rooms yet there were burn holes in the blankets and on the bathroom ceiling. The faucets in the bathroom were filthy as if they hadnt been cleaned in weeks. There was a huge dead bug on the window sill along with the dust. They did adjust the rate on our room but that didnt compensate for having strangers on the balcony next to us, who by the way smoked so that defeated the purpose of a no smoking room. My parents room was also dirty with hair all over the bathroom floor and dirty sink as well. I would never stay here again.
Appalled by conditions!
This hotel does not live up to the Days Inn name. Old and shows it. Not worth the money! Room smelled bad, like cat urine.

Broke camp and enjoyed the ride across the 17 mile Chesapeake Bay Bridge & Tunnel. The bridge is 23 miles long and the tunnel goes from 25' to 100' deep. The weather was perfect and the 3 hour trip was easy to our new campsite at Ft. Whaley, Whaleyville, MD. We stayed here 3 years ago with grandsons, Austin & Cory.
