    This hotel was dumpy and dirty. We cancelled our 2nd night and changed hotels.

    ... a WWII era submarine, the USS Drum. This submarine was commissioned in 1941 and saw plenty of battle as well. If you have never been in a sub, it is amazing to think that over 70 people could be in those cramped quarters for long periods of time, underwater. That would not be an assignment for me.

    ... an unique local treasure. John found a leather fedora hat for $10 and a redwood bird feeder to decorate with wood burning.
