    Day 12, Salinas – The last special event of our reunion with Berkeley was meeting Heather, his fiancée. We packed up the car and rendezvoused at a café as we headed north again. Heather is a lovely, beautiful lady and we enjoyed getting to know her in our short time together. Her son is in Europe and has visited a few of the places we were last summer, so we had a lot in common to chat about.

    ... but once we got there realized we could not actually drive to the castle. We just wanted to see it quickly and head on, but the only option was a tour that began nearly an hour later that cost $35 and lasted a couple of hours and you had to ride a bus from their visitor center to the castle.
