Very clean but lots of streetwalkers around the area, also internet is terrible - access sporadic and unreliable.

We enjoyed a box lunch picnic in the park. They were packed by the hotel and were better than expected (after last night's poor meal)---sandwich, chips and cookie. We ate with Eric and Sue from Illinois, very nice folks.

After lunch and a short drive we took in an amazing view of Kings Canyon ...

Today we woke up in mariposa outside Yosemite. We cooked
sausage eggs and oatmeal. We would need it. We then drove into the park. The
main road that runs through the park is closed nov thru may. So we went to the
Yosemite valley. We first drove to bridal veil falls which had a lot of water
running off it since it rained last night and it was warm and had a good deal
of snow melt. Then we drove to the trail to vernal falls. We walked around for
    an hour looking ...

We left Mt Carmel UT at the crack of dawn, drove on the Zion/Mt Carmel scenic Hwy, thr' the 2 tunnels (one is 1.1 miles long) and out with no fee payable, as the US Govt employees had not turned up to work this early. Saved ourselves $25.

One has to take time to stop/go on this stretch of highway with the stunning mountainside vista's that you see in the Zion area.

Once thr' Springdale (township next to Zion NP) we headed down 9 and 15 passing straight thr Las ...
