Soon we entered Kansas. Its vast wheat fields are such a thing of beauty. The contrast of the yellow wheat against the green corn crop was so striking. And it went on for mile after mile.

I left Topeka late in the afternoon and ran through the Kansas country side at a fast pace. Topeka to Manhattan to Beloit, to Woodson to Hays.
