Hotel is very nice, newly renovated, first class room. Unexpectedly, the room has a refrigerator and microwave. Got a really good price on the room, too. The neighborhood is definitely seedy though.

... battle - I found the Apple Store and realised that everything was about 2/3rds of what it is in Europe. I have been enjoying using Sel's MacBook Air for my blog and she has been very patiently teaching me, so I made a decision there and then to just buy myself one - and as I type now, I am typing on it :-) Fantastic!

Then it was back on the tram to the Hotel where we are now packing getting ready for transferring to Jasper and then onto Banff. Will up-date soon!

... amused when we showed up to find a small pool of dirty water filled with locals offering foot massages. One man was even washing his motorcycle in the water. Moral of the story: manage your expectations when in a foreign country!

Katelyn - Though very painful, I thought it was funny when I fell off the small fence onto some rocks by the lake. I couldn't stop laughing at myself and at the "surgery" that took place soon after by some "doctors".

    First day.

... watching some movies. I tried to sleep, but I have learned that I can't sleep on a plane. I am hoping that I can have a nap when we get to the place were staying for the first few nights before heading off to do our days events, but we shall see. Right now, we are over the ocean. Nothing else too exciting has happened on the flight. A few bumps here and there, but nothing like major turbulence or anything like that. *** EDIT: And a few mins after I finished writing ...

... and we managed to stay up to see the new year in.

On New Year's Day we went into the city. Sadly there were no shops open given it was a holiday. We have done almost no shopping while we've been here, that might change I guess once we get to LA. We took a walk by the Bow River, spotted a bald eagle and squirrels. Last night we went to a friend of Margaret's for dinner - and thoroughly enjoyed a turkey dinner :-)

... onto whether we had enough 1 and 2 Swiss Franc pieces to get a luggage cart in Luzerne.

If I haven’t already mentioned it…you can set your sensitive and highly exact Swiss time pieces to the train schedule. EXACTLY. This means that the train leaves ON TIME, WHEN it’s supposed to…whether you like it or not. We had exactly 14 minutes to get from one train to the next, we had a lot of luggage and 2 kids.
