Hotel is very nice, newly renovated, first class room. Unexpectedly, the room has a refrigerator and microwave. Got a really good price on the room, too. The neighborhood is definitely seedy though.

Today was a travel day. We left our room in Regina and drove all the way to Calgary.

Along the way, we stopped for a needed "washroom stop" at a roadside museum in the tiny town of Chaplain, SK. As we pulled into the parking lot, we saw enormous piles of white stuff behind the small museum. Once the immediate needs were taken care of, we …

... After a nap until the early afternoon, I went out to do some exploring, and it is amazing how rejuvenating something familiar can be. I have been going to work for a week now and have been catching public transit. And in this short time I can say I'm not a fan.

It takes me about an hour / 50 mins for my journey. If I was to drive it would be 7-10 mins. The reason for this big difference is that there is not direct route and I must bus into the city before getting the train back out.

I have decided that I want to buy a car. This is not something that ...

    A long boring drive ...

A travel blog entry by aspqrz on Jun 14, 2014

As it says, nothing of real interest ... just a long boring drive down to Calgary so I can catch a plane back to Toronto.

Went the direct route this time, not via Dinosaur Central as on the way up.

Lots of miles and miles of miles and miles. In kilometers.

... to Frankfurt - nine hours, then a connecting flight to Munich - a further one hour. In all we were awake for 26 hours. Very tired but excited to be in Germany. Drove to our accommodation, approximately 30 minutes from the airport. Again sitting on the wrong side of the car, and on the wrong side of the road. Travelled the Autobarn. Amazing no speed limits. We tentatively ...
