    ... point we topped off at 8,022 feet; nice not only because of views but also because it was fifty-eight degrees. We took three different side tours and rumbled through potholed, dirt roads; one had a great creek slithering through the pines and firs, another called Hettinger had a gorgeous field of flowers that greeted our arrival, and the other had plenty of clearings in between the lined pines, spruce and birch trees.     We started the day in Wall, SD. Planned to see the sites today with the main priority being Mount Rushmore. But it turned into so much more.
