    ... means mixing it up with the cattle and a horseback afternoon at South Fork Lodge high in the Bighorn National Forest. A day for laundry and supplies (and some R&R for our sore behinds!) and then east to Deadwood in South Dakota where we'll visit the Black Hills, Mt. Rushmore and more.     ... by visiting the site of the wagon box fight, just a few miles down the road. At this site some woodcutters and their escorting soldiers avoided Fettermans fate by forting up in some abandoned wagon bodies and fighting back with new fangled breechloading rifles.

    We cruised past Fort Phil Kearny, and did some geocaching along Lake DeSmet, north of Buffalo and then into town for some more geocaches. Good fun.

    ... signing. The crowds began to build early, easily doubling the population of Durant (4500+ people). The celebrities were late in arriving, but they stayed over until everyone who wanted a book, T-shirt, cap, etc. signed got it. They were joined by Basque Dancers and traditional folk songs and dances.
