... people attempt to get across. Some guys are so fit that they make the swings across look so easy. There are adults and kids doing flips on the bars. Another guy doing chin ups like they are nothing. Hinesh also takes a turn on the swings, he looked so happy.

We get to the pier and take photos of the rides before having lunch at Bubba Gump. We share a jumbalaya and a side order of ceasar salad. Again the "side" is the size of a normal salad ...

... across the river. I took the interstate back to Needles where I followed the older roots through the town which followed the railroad tracks. I rejoined the interstate for a short spell before taking the turnoff for US95 towards Las Vegas, Nevada. The road headed back into the desert northwards before I took the left turn back towards the small towns of Goffs and Fenner, both of which have seen better days. Fenner is the last gas stop for I-40 for 55 ...

A day better than yesterday. Much better! :)

So this morning we started our journey towards Fresno airport and a vehicle replacement in the "mindblowing" speeds of 35 mph due to the spare tired we were driveing on. Last night was also pretty bad in terms of a good nights sleep. It felt like the motel had very thin walls because I could hear people walking around on the floor on top of us. People were also talking and leaving and parking cars outside, in the middle of the night. Severe stereo snoring didn't quite ...

... praying for the people involved in the accident ahead. Helicopters were needed and when i saw it, it was just a charred mess of unidentifiable stuff. The BLM fire crew was there.  We slipped down the mountain and into the Mojave Desert Valley. It was breathtakingly beautiful (like most of California.) The sunset skies were pink and a variety of changing pastel colors.   Joshua trees, amazing ghostly desert palms, dotted the desert floor, branches twisted reaching for the sky. ...
