Yes, it really is a trip when you ride in the rain. Not once but 3 separate showers over the 6 hours. But it really only poured for the last 20 miles, so not so bad.
Left around 8am with 58Fand cloudy skies. Did not wear my heated jacket (the FirstGear Monarch jacket and liner is warm and quite waterproof), but had my Frogg Togg pants on. …
He hit the road right after grabbing a bite and filling up the gas. We have about a 4 to 5 hour drive ahead of us and I'm determined to do it in less. I am amazed at how beautiful the state of New York is. I think you always think of the city and forget about the state. We came through Geneva and Seneca valley on the way to Watkins glen. It overlooked Seneca lake and was lined with vineyard after vineyard all overlooking the lake at varying heights. It was very nice and extremely ...
... spray me.....it was really musky, and smelled for about a 7 foot buffer zone around me! After we finished the photos, we released him the woods - out of harms way. (Then Bag Of Tricks thanked me for catching it..lol ) We said our goodbyes to Bag Of Tricks and Jester, then thanked them one last time for the trail magic.....and got back to hiking, a steep and rocky (as is all of PA!) trail awaited us. We hiked another 6 or 8 miles, talked to everyone at the shelter, ...
Woken by alarm. However, I had alarm set for 8.30 instead of 7.30 and Gab already gone for the van before we woke. I had reheated pasta and cold pizza from last night for breakfast. Left about 10 to go to Palmerton Pennsylvania to see our friend Steve Obremski. GPS 'Judy Garmon' took us on lots of back roads as well as highways. It was pretty and interesting - some poorer neighborhoods as well.
Steve was ...
Just a few days ago I sat at the kitchen table with Mason working on Math, Grammar, Reading, Writing, and of course, World Cup Soccer Talk! Today, I write from Chiang Mai Thailand. In the next few weeks our conversations and lessons will take place half-a-world away from each other. How cool is that? The possibilities are endless as we continue learning. I will be able to share an entirely different culture ...

Arriving in a heavy rain, I was welcomed by being allowed to keep my motorcycle under the vast awning for the night (and a towel to dry it off too). A very friendly reception desk and weekend barkeep added to the enjoyment of the facility.
They have a small but very functional fitness center (weights & treadmil, bike and elliptical) as well as an indoor pool. There is a tv to let you forget your breathlessness too.
The restaurant/bar is not busy on Sundays but the food was good and a lively conversation with the barkeep made a nice close to the meal.
I'd definitely return here again. The room was comfortable and quiet.
