      Great value and friendly

Arriving in a heavy rain, I was welcomed by being allowed to keep my motorcycle under the vast awning for the night (and a towel to dry it off too). A very friendly reception desk and weekend barkeep added to the enjoyment of the facility.
They have a small but very functional fitness center (weights & treadmil, bike and elliptical) as well as an indoor pool. There is a tv to let you forget your breathlessness too.
The restaurant/bar is not busy on Sundays but the food was good and a lively conversation with the barkeep made a nice close to the meal.
I'd definitely return here again. The room was comfortable and quiet.

      Peace Valley

A travel blog entry by jmpncsu on Nov 27, 2014

Thursday was Thanksgiving and by now, the snow had ended. The roads were cleared so in the morning, Sandy and I headed to Peace Valley for a walk around Lake Galena. We parked at the Peace Valley Nature Center and started walking the hike/bike path around the lake. It was a chilly morning, but the sky was clear and ...

... for an hour or so in the snow. It was coming down pretty good, but the temperature was above freezing so the snow was very wet and heavy. In an hour or so, I was pretty wet and cold and ready to go back indoors. I got some pictures of birds in the backyard on the feeders and we shoveled the driveway for her aunt and uncle. In the evening, we went to see Hunger ...

... was along the trail through a break in the trees. Scrambling down to the base would be rather tricky and we didn’t have a lot of time, so I didn’t try anything crazy. We did head upstream a bit for a better view of Factory Falls, which was a pretty cool waterfall. Then we continued downstream to see Deer Leap Falls, the last one in the area. At this one, the water flows through a narrow chute, crashing down on a rock at the ...

      Ringing Rocks

A travel blog entry by jmpncsu on Nov 24, 2014

Monday morning, we had breakfast with Sandy’s dad again and then packed our stuff up and started making our way to Pennsylvania. We would be spending Thanksgiving with her other aunt and uncle in Doylestown, north of Philadelphia. Along the way, we stopped at the mall in King of Prussia, so Sandy could get in a little holiday shopping and take advantage ...
