Andi left for work in the morning. I can't remember if we had breakfast together or not. I felt like being lazy and staying in bed a little longer. While I was skyping T I decided to get up and look out the bedroom window. To my utter surprise and bringing a wide smile to my face instantly, I saw snow!!! Glorious, heavenly snow! It had coated the trees, the grass, the playground, the roofs.. Ohh, just lovely. I started to squeal and gasp excitedly, "T guess what guess what! ...

... how little it's accepted or tolerated in Australia. Now don't get me wrong, the sight didn't offend my eyes or make me want to yell, "Get a room," but it did make me think about how prudish and conservative Australia is. Andi had already made this comment to me 2 years earlier when we travelled in New Zealand and he found the place to be a 'nanny state'. As of today, I have been here for a week and it has been a whirlwind of new experiences, new people, new food and new languages. I can't wait for the next few ...

... mien through the Visa/passport check and then I had to go through security... Weirdest experience ever mostly because I forgot the full bottle of water that I still had in my carryon. While I was standing there waiting for my bag to be checked, a woman just decided to leave her bag there, throwing everyone in a bit of a tizzy. When they finally got to my bag, the guard asked me to drink my water to make sure that it wasn't explosive or something. After ...

We <3 Hartberg

Hartberg is a very cute little town and our hotel is beautiful! Situated next to the castle, the Alter Gerischtof is sophisticatedly decorated and very well presented. My room is rather large! With big bay windows that open out onto a balcony. The bed is SO comfortable I literally feel like I'm sleeping in a marshmallow. Breakfast is alright... No toast though. And you have to pay for eggs! So I guess it's another week of eating muesli!! On ...
