We were driven about an hour up into the hills surrounding Florence to a estate owned by a shirt manufacturer who lives in Milan. This is an operating farm that produces a red wine grape( think San Geovese or Chianti) as well as olives for olive oil. Back on the train to Florence for a one night stop over on our way to the Cinque Terre. With just half a day to explore we once again covered a few kms on foot and managed to visit Michaelangelo's statue of David overlooking the city and The Pitti Palace.
