We were joined by Sarah, Evan, Rebecca and Graham so had a house full of kids, lots of croquet, knitting, campfires and special places ( Treasure Island). After about two hours in searing heat we get out of Chicago and we stop. I get off the bike and nearly fainted, I was suffering from heat exhaustion and dehydration. Two bottles of water and about 10 minutes later I was OK again.
Good to visit Chicago but not like that!
Another 100 miles and getting to the hotel, having a shower and then a couple of beers was very welcome indeed!!
... We ate at the cafe which overlooked their rainforest exhibit. It took us an hour and a half to go through the first exhibit. After lunch we went through the indoor rainforest exhibit which was amazing. It took us about 45 minutes to do the upper level of the rainforest but Matthew wasn't feeling well.
