... but still it's worth of the trip!

I was lucky to have a great weather, but I could see clouds assembling over the mountain to the west from the pass. It was just matter of time, when the pass disappears in the mist. Still there was plenty of time to enjoy evening sun, coffee and take some pictures. I did not go to the other "Hue" side for a complete experience. On my departure the mist started to reach the pass, so I left just in ...

... was less than 100km, we went through Da Nang, the third largest city in Vietnam and at times fallowed the coastline of the South China Sea (due to some current issues between Vietnam and China, the Vietnamese now like to call it the Vietnamese Sea). ... My cinnamon beef stew reminded me of stifado and Cyprus, while Emma's sesame pork was a winner, she says. We tried the white rose starter - local pork origami flower shaped dumplings. We're struggling to have a bad meal here. We returned to find the bike missing. A suspiciously similar bike was being wheeled up the road. I caught up with the two guys to find it wasn't ours. Emma worried while I sought the help of Dong Au's lady owner who, after a quick look around found ...

Quick stop in Da Nang

... time and it was just pandemonium. It was crazy like that. We even had a family from Laos sit next to us on the beach. This must be a big vacation spot just like Dalat.

We went to our quiet cafe for dinner that night rather than join the locals in all the pop up eateries that sprang up to cater to all the people on the beach. The food was good and the atmosphere was very relaxing. We also finalized our plan for getting to ...
