... over to see if he spoke English, which he did! So I asked if the grounds went as far as we cold see, and he said they went even further...that as far as we could see was a road that passes thru the middle of the grounds. Then I asked if the buildings are always there, and he said Oh No! He told us that in the winter the grounds are used for a completely different festival, somewhat like the one that is at Olympic Park in the summer....so each year, starting in the spring, ...

... could buy our entry tickets for the tour. There was a small queue but apparently during summer the queue goes for at least 1km up the road and busses jam the streets. On average 10,000 people visit per day in Summer. Today the shuttle bus wasn't running due to ice & snow so it was either horse drawn cart to the castle or a 20 min walk up the hill. ... We managed though..JUST. Despite the tight squeeze we both slept reasonably well. Our SEARS sleeping bags served their purpose well and we didn't feel that cold overnight. I think exhaustion from a late night interview, a long flight and then an overland commute through Germany, had all helped. We rose early so we could get a bus to the grounds well before the tents opened. We wanted to be in a queue from 9am so we were guaranteed a seat when the doors burst open at 11am. ...
