... br> We went for lunch at Ratzkeller in Marienplatz ... typical Bavarian food but they also had salads and vegetarian options. So excited about the vegetables! Food was good, service was slow ... I think the kitchen lost my order so everyone had finished eating by the time my food arrived.

... bonus by watching FC Stuttgart train for their first Bundesliga fixture at their stadium near the museum. I spent the evening in Stuttgart and although it was flattened during the war, they have rebuilt it into a pleasant vibrant place.

There is still quite a lot of historic Germany that escaped the Allied bombing. The next stop was Rothenberg ob der Taube which was a beautifully preserved Medieval town in the North part of Bavaria. I found a nice site in the countryside ...

... looked up to the apex of the cone there was a hole letting light in, which was supposed to show that there is always hope. We went to see the crematoriums and the gas chamber too, the latter of which felt very realistic and harrowing. The museum near the entrance to the camp was very good, and detailed everything from the rise of Nazism to the different types of prisoners that were kept in Dachau. Apparently one person from the Republic was ever kept in Dachau. ...

... was worth it for the pictures I took. I hiked all the way back down the mountain to the small town. I was pretty tired but still wanted to hit the Bavarian kings museum to make sure I wasn't missing out on anything. I ran through it pretty quick, there wasn't much to see other than Ludwig's robe. I didn't check the train schedule before I went into the museum which wasn't a good move because I only had 10 minutes to get from the museum to the train station. I missed the shuttle ...
