... 260 stairs up to the old fortress and saw the clock tower, etc. There was a great view from the top.

Today after sleeping in, I headed out to find these so called museums and galleries. I got sidetracked on my way to a cafe for coffee and food when I saw a beautiful park with many benches begging me to sit and stay for a while. Headed to the grocery store, bought some cheese, crackers, and fruit (my favorite meal!) and headed to the park ...
Graz, Styria, Austria lolly13... Warren and I walked around Graz near the river. In this area there is a big building called the "Kunsthaus" (art house) that is very modern, brightly lit, and convex, I guess you could say. It kind of looks like a big buldge-y balloon. I'm not sure what the city's inhabitants think of it, but it really a cool looking building. Close to here is an "island" in the middle of the river. It is a restaurant with an outdoor area area, and the whole ...
Graz, Styria, Austria emyandwarren... than climb the 260 stairs; we were glad with our choice since we knew that we were going to free camp for the night and didn't want to get all sweaty. At the top of the Schlossberg (castle hill) there was a clock tower, bell tower, museums, and a view of Graz that was spectacular. The best part, for me, was the fact that once we were up there and admiring the sunset, all of the clock towers below went off at 6pm. We could hear about ten different ones ...
Graz, Styria, Austria armajor7... in waterball (or smthg?) and the there was the welcome-party for the team. That gathering on the square developed to a immense party with people singing hymn and anthems as well as drinking beers and shots.

The next day i got up "early", which means 7; I didnot get up before 10 for some weeks, so it was hard work to open my eyes.. After 2 strong coffees and cereals i checked out ...
Fürstenfeld, Styria, Austria timothei... city. It's a pity, because Graz really shows promise; it's clean, small, it has interesting buildings and cosy streets, etc. Really pretty, green, surrounded by mountains and divided by river Mur... but the weather is not on our side. Even so, we visit Haupsplatz, the City Hall, beautiful Sporgasse and we take the lift to Schlossberg to see the Clock Tower, There is also a funicular to arrive on top of the hill but I ...

Fürstenfeld, Styria, Austria timothei... rest stop- our usual meat and cheese on panini bread. We found our next stop at the town of Graz where we found a campsite just out of town on the tram route. This site was clean and well run and allowed us to do our laundry. Beside the camp was public pool which is the biggest pool we had ever seen. It had ducks on it and water features in the middle. We had a refreshing swim before it closed in the evening which is lucky we did as the weather turned cold the next day. We had ...
