... opened and Elvis served us our tickets, which included a bed for the journey. The train arrived 140 mins late as promised and we jumped on. WE sat in our bunks all chuffed with the air conditioning and comfort only to be demoted from what we found out was first class by the ticket man (no relation to the piano man, rocket man or Superman) to the much more tightly packet, stuffier normal class. WE tucked in and slept to Petchaburi....cockroaches as bed partners.
... on the back who looked familiar, after standing there shocked it hit me that it was Hayley sitting on the back of a scooter with a massive 15Kg rucksake on her back looking absolutley petrified, after stopping myself from laughing i helped Hayley and her bag off of the bike, i just wish i had a camera to capture that image. So we are together again and plan to go to Krabi tomorrow. Matt and Hayley.
Surat Thani, Thailand mattmcgivern... for my return to the hectics of American life... Although I came to Samui thinking I might go out dancing or somehow celebrate the full moon, I am a little tired from traveling and feel sumptuous in my decision to vege. Funny that I end up doing it two weekend nights in a row. I guess the sun (burn) and oil massage and my travels have caught up with me and it is time to just relax and be. My hopes of a good movie on TV are answered in the ...
Koh Samui, Thailand zotterk... some much needed bladder relief (after I had flushed the toilet I read the sign stating not to put toilet paper in the toilet and realised then that may have been why it struggled to flush - Leah and I exchanged a "Whoops" as we left the building realising that we had made the same mistake). We boarded the ferry in the knick of time as the heavens opened up and also enjoyed some much needed bladder relief. We ventured into the ...
Surat Thani, Thailand flickitee... by spending time in the seedy hands of Patong. Nick and Liam left for Koh Samui the day after we arrived in Phuket. Dave stayed on but disappeared the first night. Surat Thani, Surat Thani, Thailand panom... I tried to avoid a puddle, lost my footing and began to fall. Luckily, the longtail boat driver was right behind me and stopped me from falling. I was really grateful because if I had fell, I would have slid down the rocky path a long way. The others in my group were couples and so they were helping each other, it was just me all by myself. I was so glad that after that the longtail boat driver held my hand and guided me on where to step the rest of the way ...
