Fez, Fès-Boulemane, Morocco cariverga... a couple of pics from here in Fes, but not holding my breath...

Thanks again to those who comment, send me little notes. It's great fun to read them.

Dyanne

P.S. And yes, I believe I have now earned my Moroccan "stripes": I have officially been nearly run over in the narrow medina "streets" by a donkey loaded with propane cans! ;)

Oh, and MONUMENTAL ACHIEVEMENT! This morning for the first time I am ambling about WITHOUT my stupid cane!
Fes, Morocco globalgirl... 3 shirts, 3 pairs of pants and 3 pairs of undies for 3 weeks. i thank you, as will the person sitting next to me on the flight home. to my new Patgonia travel tote. a bag that says,"i might have wheels, and enjoy a good stroll through the airport, but i can take a beating with the best of them, and i don,t need a guitar bungeed to me to be cool." (and has backed up every word) to the airport baggage handler, who rifled through said ...
Fes, Morocco troseen... bite of her vegetarian couscous, which was piled with vegetables and delicious dates and raisins mixed in a chutney-like garnish. It had very great sweet and spicy flavors that are distinct to Morocco. Jason had a chicken "tajine" or roast that was also piled with vegetables and fat juicy chicken (unlike any chicken found in Benin). Again full of flavors and spices (cumin, cinnamon, saffron, etc... found in Morocco. The next two nights we stayed ...
Fes, Morocco jasonrebecca... were getting a workout. I saw some desert snake egg shells. As the sun was setting we walked and made it to a camp where there was a small tent set up and two more guides plus a Spanish guy. We watched the sun set from the top of the dunes whilst a young Sahara guy sang beautiful Arabic songs that sounded like medicine songs then tumbled down the dunes doing handstands and flips to entertain us and make us laugh. We waited for the moon but it was covered in ...
M'Hamid, Morocco inoursuitcase... Raj and Bridget leave after this expedition, and Mustapha suggests another excursion, to the Valley of the Roses, although the details are vague. We drive down the road towards the main town Boumaln Dades, then we turn up a very narrow street in a village and eventually come out on to a shockingly rough dirt road. I have mistakenly understood we are driving the car to a point where we will get out and go for a 2-3 hour walk, but it turns out we are driving to the Valley of the Roses over ...
Fes, Morocco mig.qwerty... and fossiles. We also got some cool **** from Chez Adil, this guy called adil has this cooperative were they sell all handcrafted staff, at least is what they say. ou can also go check out the coran schools, but the entrance is forbidden to tourist, so you will only hear musulmans praying. If you are lucky you can always make your way in, but that is gonna cost you some dirhams. Something I'm ...
