... so in the weekday it was empty and indeed we only saw a couple of players.
Apart from lazing on the beach, eating fish and visiting the local mountain villages I can't say we have done much. Amazingly we encountered our second folk dancing festival, this one for the Whit holidays. Of course being non-religious we didn't know it was Whit. Tomorrow we drive across Greece to catch the ferry to Italy and we are hoping for a quiet drive on Whit Monday.
... Annie clearly did not get on with Bulgaria but I had much less of an issue with the country...C
Once into Greece the driving was much easier and you could set the cruise control without fear of pot holes. We arrived in Neos Marmaras in the early evening and settled into our self catering room with a large balcony over looking the sea.
Now sitting on the balcony, drinking Turkish Raki, over looking the sea, 25C.... cheers.
GÜN 11 GÜNLERDEN PAZARTESİ:
Nea Moudanıa 'dan rahat çıktık ...zaten Sanı 'ye kadar yol otoban ve Sani' kavşağında sahile dönüyorsunuz...
bu akşam düğün falan yok
Her taraf sessiz ve sakin ..
biraz daha oyalanıp yattık ...
... super smart Greek people company:) The same day we hitchiked towards Bulgaria but after we reached Thessaloniki and took a bus out to the outskirts of it, it became dark and we couldnt find any promised gas station there. So we just took 3 hour bus ride there and back! Happily my wonderful friend Despina found us a place to stay in Thessaloniki! We couldnt have been more thankful!
Next morning we took a bus to Sofia!
... amount of coast line with beautiful beaches, not your typical Euorpean rocky beaches and lastly I hear the islands are very different from one another and worth visiting....
One last thing...I forgot to mention the famous Greek drink of Ouzo...it's a killer when you drink too many...I'll say no more.
We hope to return to another conference in 2013 on the island of Rhodes near Turkey ...thanks for following our blog!
