    ... deserted at 6am. The cleanup crews had things under control. There were only a few stayers around, some still drinking, others eating and the remainder on their way home to sleep off their night.

    The lady at the station made us wait 10 mins until she moved over to the international window at exactly 6:30am - opening time. No bikes to Zagreb. Bugger. We thought better so returned to the Castle, sat out on the balcony (Twas very pleasant) ...

    The Americans who had found themselves at home on the well surfaced twisty mountain roads were all slowed a little by todays Australian like bumpy and truck punished roads. It was not unusual today to get bumped off line mid corner by a dip or rut in the road.

    ... which were very charming, not necessarily expected by either of us. All of the people we met were very friendly to us, the only problem was that they generally only spoke Hungarian and German, which made Chris pick his brain saying every word he could think of in those languages!     ... This required a visit to a notary and then the SA Embassy to have it ratified. Well, the notary was fine. € 60 for 10 minutes face time and a few cords and stamps. The form had space for 2 witnesses of the signatures. The notary assured us that in Hungary, her stamp and signature negated the need for witnesses.
