... originally from the Pacific Northwest (with credentials like that, he’s got to be good!) who runs a boat business here in Mazatlan. He gave us a quote to strip all the old paint, add two layers of epoxy (very important for reasons that we won’t bore you with) and new bottom paint. The price was at least a third of what we’d have to pay ...
... old timers just enjoying the shade and the people watching. Mexico is a country that lives in the streets and plazas.
From here we took a stroll through the beautiful old town with its colourful painted walls and old wooden doors and a plethora of art/handicraft shops to explore. Being in a marina feels safer than being out in the wide open
sea where you are the only target, but it was difficult ...
... spoke perfect English and was very friendly. We were shown some amazing red opals by a guys and the lady who owned the cafe, pretty reasonably priced it seems, though we had no money so couldn't buy anything anyway. We then headed to the beach for a quick swim (or paddle in my case,) then wandered back to the hotel to go out for dinner. It's been really nice to spend some time looking around and seeing a place rather than just finding a bed to sleep ...
