... 6 January, lively colourful street markets will fill the sea promenade and the squares in the old town with light, colour and perfumes.
From Saturday 19 December to 17 January see the Nativity Scene Exhibition. An expression of street-decoration creativity and religious sentiment: over 100 nativity scenes on show in the narrow streets and squares, in the harbour and lagoon. Traditional or nautical-themed nativity scenes ...
... of alleyways behind the town hall, in the hopes of losing myself in them for a little while as I headed out to the lighthouse, on the tip of the town that extends into the Adriatic. Fortunately or unfortunately, the town is small enough that, while one can wander through these alleyways, it is really difficult to truly lose one's self in them. I was out at the lighthouse a short time later, which, as promised by my guidebook, was quite unimpressive ...
Piran, Slovenia forbes.thompson... the Latin motto ˝Let them talk.˝ We liked that, but Bill did point out that wealthy Italian men never ever take young lovers and lavish money on them, so of course people talked. o what one does in Piran, if youre us, is wander the harbor and alleys and churchyard and ask the campanile why its not open for you and talk to the omnipresent cats. Theres quite a system of walkwazs from town to town and even a 3 countrz walkway, we found a ...
Piran, Rovinj, Volosko, Split, Slovenia commuter... missed the plane?" even though it was not our fault at all. Finally we are transferred to the previous man, he apologises and orders the taxi to Venice. The same man assures us that they will call us the following morning to inform us about the next plane.

Finally we decide to buy sleeping bags and sleep on the beach but the Italians tell us that it is dangerous and that there were some people beaten up and in the end they accommodate us in their appartment. Thank you SO MUCH again Mauricio, Arianna, and their beautiful kids!
For the rest of the day we stay on the beach and try to relax... it is hard though, you know.

At midday when we where enjoying the beach the van started burning, there were flames three metres high. They were trying to save some things from inside but the van was all locked up. The guards who assisted at the accident have the van pulled away and they just left telephone number where we can get more info. They also ...

As we parked our Michèle just beside the Adventure Minigolf - very noisy and opened until 2am we have to change the place for the night. We park in the housing area and go for a walk through the city. Very busy, a real tourist place, we have a cocktail, icecream, take a walk on the beach, and go to dream our dreamy dreams.
This is a great small town, where they actually choose to not speak english. We went from the restaurant to bar to wedding to bar to restaurant to bar (the Black Stuff) etc. Eat, Drink, Sleep repeat for a few days. It was a beautiful wedding and a great town.
Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy slipperycoconut... enjoy my over-priced breakfast. My next task is to exchange my £ notes into whatever the currency is in Slovenia. The chap at the exchange desk seems normal enough. "Hi, how are you?" I ask as I pull out my wallet. No response. No problem, be cool. "Hi, do you have any Slovenian currency?" "PARDON ME?!" the guy shouts back. Catching myself, and mindful of the stresses of my previous customer/retail experience, I try again. "DO. YOU. HAVE. ANY. SLOVENIAN. CURRENCY ...
