    ... joked that she needed the book because it was her first tour and then backed that up by saying she has actually been a guide for 25 years - starting when she was 5 years old! The Greeks have a dry sense of humour that sometimes isn't recognised.

    ... had a couple hours to wander around Fira, the main rim village, and have lunch before catching the bus and heading to Oia (pronounced 'eee-ahh') our destination! We didn't want to walk too far because we were lugging our carry-on bags with us and it was very steep and hilly. I even had my airplane pillow and hat attached to my pack although they both came unattached. I recovered the pillow but my hat was gone!

    ... Another day took us to Aptera-an active archaeological site on the hillside above Chania (Hania, Xania). The day at Falarsana, was a gorgeous day at the beach body surfing in clear, clear warm waters and lounging under palapas on the dark blue lounge chars the tavernas set up on the beach to rent.
