Great Hotel near Downtown
I recently had a two day business meeting in downtown Dallas, but none of the hotels in downtown were available. Based on reviews from this website, I chose to stay at this hotel. All of the reviews were right on....the rooms were very large and clean, staff were fantastic (great service), and the hotel is only a 5-10 minute drive from downtown. I had a room in the back of the hotel. While there was no view, it was extremely quiet. I would definitely stay here again on a future business trip.
A nice Hotel
The hotel was nice & clean. The b/fast buffet was good; we were able to add it to room rate for an Add'l 10$ a day for two.
The bedroom is not separate from the suite sitting area, it is attached. The wet bar is by the door where the beds are. The pull out sofa is on the other side of the room. This is only an issue if you are traveling with children and they need to go to bed earlier; there is no door to close so that you can read or watch TV.
Location is good in relation to Downtown; 10 min. from SMU.
Excellent!! A review you can trust
When researching, I rely heavily on reviews. This hotel is excellent and the value is superb. The rooms are spacious, free wireless internet, safe area, free parking, very friendly staff, bar, and the beds are WONDERFUL!! Just a few miles from downtown and everything I needed. I will stay here again FOR SURE!!! Whirlpool is great also.
Good Value, Ideal Location, Large Rooms
I always stay here when in Dallas. Above average rooms, great location close to the Market and the Oak Lawn/Cedar Springs area bars. Rooms are big and clean, nice lobby and restaurant with the standard Marriott fare.
Best so far...
Having been to numerous gift shows and stayed at numerous hotels in and around "market" this hotel was the best! From our late arrival which was greeted with a smile till the time we left(they arranged our transportation to the airport)this hotel was professional the service seamless yet made us all feel very at home. This hotel was recommended by a supplier and I will pass it on to other attendees. I'd stay here whether it was for business or pleasure.
GREAT HOTEL!!!!! SUPERB SERVICE
I haved stayed at this Hotel on 2 separate occasions and was extremely impressed with the Hotel, specifically the Staff at the hotel, all the way down to the Housekeeping Staff. I was extremely pleased with the comfortable beds and the down filled comforters on the bed.
I especially like the "wired for business" plan which enabled me to connect to high speed internet and all calls for a nominal fee (like 8.95/night) The Work Station in the room was very cozy and functional.
On my recent visit, I was concerned about getting to DFW Airport on time; The staff arranged for a Limo to drive me to the airport for the same price as a cab would have cost.
I recommend this location to all my co-workers and friends due to the great hotel staff and service and also its extremely close access to the West End.

I recently stayed at this hotel and really I loved my suite! It was a comfortable, very clean room (and the beds are great!).
The hotel has great customer service -- the staff went out of their way to help me with anything I needed.
I also appreciate being able to tavel with my pet! Great stay!
Loved the Suites
I stayed at the Marriott Suites a few months back. I found the staff and hotel quite pleasant. Every thing was very tidy. The staff was very efficient and friendly. I look forward to my next stay at the Dallas Marriott Suite hotel. I always recommend this location to my friends and family!! THANKS SO MUCH FOR MAKING MY STAY SO WONDERFUL!
BEWARE / Disaster in Dallas
I won a trip to the Eric Clapton Crossroads Festival on a local radio station and had a room booked weeks in advance. After a long day of travel I arrived at the Marriott in Dallas to find the power out at this hotel. It had been out for 2 days prior(thunderstorm) and nobody from Marriott called to let me know they were closed. I asked the desk people what thet were going to do for me. They told me they would call around and get me a room at another hotel. I told the lady this room was paid for ($99.00) and not to downgrade me. She said I would not be downgraded. She lied. I was sent to a hotel($39.00) that was nothing more than a motel 6. Our room smelled of sulfer and was not what was payed for. The parking lot had signs warning of crime and theft. I asked if we could still use the Marriott shuttle to the event and the desk people told me they didn't go there. It says on their site they will shuttle within 5 miles and my event was 3.8 miles away(lie #2). The desk people here are the worst I have ever had to deal with in my life(incompetent). I was called by the manager of the Marriott the following day and expressed my dismay at the room I was sent to and how I was treated by her employees. She apologized and said the people at the front desk were not the employees who normally greet customers. This was obvious. She said the power was back on but after the treatment I recieved I was not going back there. She told me a refund would be made for the diffference in cost of the rooms. I have not received a dime from Marriott or an apology. This was without a doubt the worst hotel experience of my life. If it calls for thunderstorms in Dallas, do yourself a favor and avoid this place and the rude staff. I'd give this hotel a lower rate than terrible if I could. BEWARE!
Great staff, clean rooms
Very clean, comfortable rooms with very comfortable beds & down bedding. For once, a hotel that gives you enough pillows! The staff went out of their way to make sure that our every need was taken care of. The bartender was GREAT. The rooms were spacious (enough) and included a fridge & coffee maker. One of those 2 cup coffee makers, but a coffee maker. You can request a microwave oven and they'll bring one to your room for the duration of your stay. The maid service was great - they not only cleaned the room, but actually straightened things up too. We had room 1013 which was smack dab in the middle near the elevator. I wondered if the elevator noise would be bothersome, but it wasn't at all... and certainly made it convenient for the many trips up & down. Speaking of elevators, there's 4 of them and they're quick. I don't think we ever waited for more than 30 seconds for one to come to our floor. This hotel is located just off the frontage of a main freeway - and although you can hear the traffic, it certainly wasn't a nuisance because of the "white noise" of the heating/cooling system in each room. Might I suggest requesting a room on an upper level floor if you want a view at all of City Lights - as there's a high rise parking structure across the street that blocks any kind of view on the lower level floors. The hotel pool was very nice and very clean and is next to the lounge so you can take cocktails outside. The only complaint I had the entire stay was the slow service in the dining room. If you eat breakfast, eat the buffet otherwise your cooked to order breakfast takes FOREVER. I am sure we waited at least 30 minutes for our food, and our service person was mediocre. I suggest eating off site at a place called "Mama's Daughter's Diner" which is within 5 minutes driving time and has good home-style food and the waitresses like "JimmieSue" were a kick! On that note, be sure to take the drive to Papa's BBQ. GREAT food, service and prices.
