I guess there is another restaurant in Kai fa qu called "Eddies" Anyway, he serves western food and has a delicious bakery. I had some of the chocolate chip cookies. They were tasty.

Again, back to the story, we went to ...

When I arrived in Yangshuo in June I was offered the use of a bike because my walk from the school to the apartment was almost 30 minutes. I declined because I was overwhelmed with the traffic. I didn’t know if I could walk across a street let alone try to ride a bike. After a while walking was no problem as long as you didn’t mind standing in the middle of the road with ...
Dalian, Liaoning, China mcoppins... rather ironic and confusing symbolism, but perhaps memory fails: please do comment on this if you know about such biological matters. In Yantai I'm staying in paradoxically the cheapest but nicest hotel of my current trip. And I've just had a divine bowl of fish-and-pickled-cabbage soup. The restaurant was small and very scruffy, but the food was glorious, and the place was filled with a charming, down-to-earth family simplicity. So all is well.

On the way, I decided Dalian was a bit too hot, icky and modern for my liking. Worse, the air was filthy, so when I got to the bus station, I bought tickets to Dandong, for the next day, then headed out to Beichuidao, supposedly one of Dalian’s better beaches. The drive out there was actually pretty nice, but the beach itself was crowded with people and trash and the ...

Wanli, Liaoning Province, China aszliross... ripped off like foreigners always are... bargain hard.

Finding the ‘mall’ itself wasn’t too ************ce we went through the doors—it was like entering a giant, six storey flea market. We wandered, and wandered, and finally came across some stalls that offered clothing, but none had plain t-shirts. After what felt like hours, but was probably closer to one, we found a place that had a few options... We explained we wanted 15 black ...

Speaking of savings, it's remarkable what money buys here. The dollar has dropped 15% in the 6 months I've been here, but it's hard to notice. A bus ride that costs $1.50 in Rome or New York ...
Dalian, China nietsreuef... new mart to buy a few necessities, and I got my first taste of Chinese food- I had a delicious grape flavored ice cream bar. We went back to the University then, and I called Mama and Papa again (Tami had called Selina and talked to me and insisted that I talk to my family for longer, which I really appreciated.) Then we met Phil Whitkorn (I think that is his last name), his wife and their two children. They took us out to eat our first real meal in ...
