... Manchester one of our new hostel mates asked us about our next stop. We told him the hostel and he said - they have bed bugs. FML Okay no bed bugs!!!! Thank God I guess it does get better. Until we realize where we are staying. This hostel is privatley owned, basically the man bought up a few homes in what looks like the projects and rents out the rooms. The lockes don't work, rancid smell, no receptionist or security features. There are people that live here too... ...

... I then headed to the walls again, got back on top and walked along it. I got off the walls at Micklegate and walked down the main street back to where the hostel was. I used the hostel to use the toilet and then went next door to a sandwich shop to pick up lunch.

... went down to reception and the common room. Still not working i asked reception, they said they would look into it. I found out later that night that it had not worked properly for the last few weeks.

We waited eagerly, watching the weather forecasts and predictions for train cancellations, waiting for Lucy and Peter to make it up to Ilkley from London on Christmas Eve.
