Off to Manchester after supper to be next to the airport for the early morning flight! Need to check in at 6.40 am (sigh)... But very excited to get on the way! Hoping for an upgrade due to it being my birthday (10th feb), however, will be very surprised if i get one! Fingers crossed. Etihad flight to Bangkok via Abu Dhabi ...

... all day. We finally found the path and had just about reached the car when the snow stopped and the sky cleared to a perfect blue. We turned around to be faced with a perfect snow covered winter wonderland with the sun gleaming on the rocks and freshly fallen snow, beautiful. ... at the bottom the the Cascade feeds the water to flush the lavatories in the house and stable. Water from the Cascade Pond also flows to the Wellington Rock and Strid Pond and the Willow Tree Fountain which both feed the a second Ring Pond in the garden. The Emperor Lake flows directly to the Emperor Fountain via and underground pipe. The water pressure is so high it is enough to power the fountain to shoot up 90 meters without pumps.

... There was one ivory carving made to look like a lace handkerchief and it was beyond brilliant.

The last time I was at Lyme Park was n 1974 when Viv and our two girls visited the UK when I was serving in Malaysia. It probably hasn't changed that much since then. The grounds are beautifully maintained by the NT and it was a good day out.

One more day here tomorrow when we go to the Leek Show then of to Norfolk.

Headed up to Manchester with my best friend Charlotte (we drove up), stayed in possible the most expensive and classiest hotel in Manchester (of course.... Because One Direction were also staying there). Got drunk in the hotel, saw the boys... Left the next day and drove back to London. Also paid 40 for a breakfast in the hotel.... TWO ...
