There was bunting and yellow bicycles galore and every pub seemed to have a "jovial" crowd getting ready for the next day. Confession: we have been home for a few days now, but I couldn't quite muster up the enthusiasm to finish writing about our last couple of days. Blame it on jetlag, more pressing things, my usual procrastination, or maybe the subliminal wish not to call the trip "finished". Anyway, we did see more amazing things on this last full day, so I'm giving it its due (writing from the perspective of July 3).

... to get to it. I recognised it as one of the trails that Julia Bradbury did on her Rail Walks series and it is as lovely as her programme showed. We didn't ride the whole trail but enough to go through 3 tunnels (which are all tar sealed and well lit) and over the Monsal Viaduct. A very flat and easy ride with lots of other bikers and walkers.
We called into a pub for a well earned beer each on the way back - about £6.80 for 2 pints so ...
