      This small town was exceptionally lovely, and like the other Slovak places we had seen, was dotted with brightly coloured homes and beautiful chapels. One of the most interesting parts of the village is “The Cage of Shame”, which is simply a large iron cage in the middle of the town centre.       ... across and then wait an hour for a bus into Poprad. My heart was in my stomach the whole ride to the border, which was on a tiny winding road atop a cliff. The little bus hit black ice no less than 3 times and the bus driver thought it was hilarious to slam on the breaks every so often to check out the road conditions, while the rest of the bus cackled with laughter. Dom and I were the only ones left out of the joke, but at least we made it ...

      ... It was so nice being across the street from the train station and really nice to just walk up two flights of stairs after dinner. When we checked out, the manager seemed surprised to know we were from the US. They don't see us around there apparently.

      We checked out early on Monday and took a bus to Poprad, where we got a train all the way to Piestany for 12.50 Euros. That's about $15 to go almost all the way to Bratislava on a newish train in 2nd class. Love it!

      ... day. A rest back at our Pension and then dinner. The food and drink is soooo cheap here it's almost ridiculous . If we are really extravagant we spend $10 on lunch and $20 on dinner and that includes alcohol . Almost as cheap as Asia . Dinner tonight was in a traditional highland restaurant with a four piece band playing highland music.
