The day started out with an 11 mile ride to get to breakfast. No, not because we forgot food but, to accommodate the need to get Marilyn's bike serviced. This meant that we need to bike to Brainerd, MN. While she and Bud went to get that done, I stayed at Holiday gas and charged phones and drank coffee. ... two cabins on this estate, we stayed in the more modest cabin which was made up of a living and kitchen space and a small bedroom. The main cabin was just across the lawn and looked fairly sizeable from the outside. Once inside it opened up even more with beautiful open plan rooms, large fireplaces and a games room in the basement. You soon realise how much more space they have over here to build on! Many beers later it was time for me to conquer my fear of boats. I don't know why ...

... and we found a barely used Coleman stove for $5!!! Just need to get some white gas....yeah....not much else that would fit in the car! On to Detroit Lakes, MN, for a picnic of fresh veggies and fruit....finally...We stopped in a Walmart for some fresh food and headed down to a park by the beach. ... and decided to go through Canada from the Soo locks to Niagara Falls, so are checking with our car insurance and our cell phone plans so that we are covered in Canada. We brought our passports along to be prepared for this eventuality. To get to Cape Cod, which is due East of us, we either need to go above or below the Great Lakes. We have driven around each one in the past, which helped us decide which route we wanted to take again.
