... further out was gorgeous, turqoisey and crystal clear! the boat trip was fun, it was a long tail and there were plent of waves to keep us holding on! the day was really good fun and we were only a little sad that we didn't get to see the sun set as was on the itinerary as it was cloudy!!
great island to visit, don't dive here though it's waaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy too expensive!
next stop cambodia!!!
... we were on the move again, this time catching the ferry from phi phi island to Krabi on the mainland. Once there we caught a taxi to Ao Nang Beach.....very very nice! Soon we were on along boat and enjoying a tour of the hong islands. First stop was Paradise island and then we went to Rai island, where in both instances we donned the snorkelling gear and were not disapointed with the array of small fish and marine life on display. Following a brief stop in the hong island lagoon ...
Phuket, Thailand mccoyryan... it was thin and about 600mm long the gardener came over and chased it up the tree the rest of the day was spent wondering went it would fall again. Talked to couple from NZ that we had spoke to the day afternoon before then back to the chairs to read, went to the room and grabbed 2 Leo's at 11am and at 12ish we went up to Jasmin's for lunch Tempura Veg and Spring Rolls and few ice cold Singha's to wash it down. We sat talking with Peter for a while he lent me "The Damage Done" by Warren ...
Phuket, Thailand dobboinaus... here we bumped in to a couple of canadians that we met in Lazy Bar in Ao Nang/Krabi. If you are near there then make sure you go!. That night we went to 4 different bars and just drank the free drink. It was immense. Next day we walked around the place and saw some stuff and booked a boat trip out round the island. The boat trip was unbelievable. Firstly we went snorkelling and it was like swimming in a fish tank ...
Ko Phi Phi Don, Thailand sitwed... Lanta - or so we thought anyway! Really Koh Lanta was pretty quiet and we failed to find where all these other backpackers were hanging out. Each of us spent a day in close proximity to the loo with some 24 hour bug that was doing the rounds. Nevertheless we had fun in our little team of 4- we landed a good deal at a resort on the cheaper end of the beach - complete with swimming pool! Explored a few local caves and spent evenings drinking in the bar. Koh Lanta is ...
Phuket, Thailand nats78... slash - Convienence Store - slash - Travel Agency: rather deplorable - our room was two mattresses on the floor and a fan affixed to the wall, and the bathroom and showers were grotty and dark to-say-the-least. And yet, somehow it perturbed me less than other places perviously had, even though it had the most cause to! Perhaps the blithe vibe of the island had already descended upon me, enchanting me to my very core, or perhaps the friendly hotel staff ...
Ko Phi Phi Don, Thailand kasey_kid... his course almost at the same time as me was sick as a parrot with dengue fever on the night of the snorkel test so there was no way he could do the bucket with us which was really disappointing for everyone, especially for him. At the beginning of the night the instructors at Visa dressed us up in t-shirts and paraded us around town before we hit Calamaro our favourite restaurant for dinner. Once the trivial matter of food was out of ...
Ko Phi Phi Don, Thailand briancrooke... in the mornings, but cleared up by noon & smoking hot. I think I'm finally used to the humidity now & can function normally, unlike my first few days. So we said goodbye to Phi Phi (although Mel & I will be back there at the start of december when Wendy & Duncan come to pay a visit) & hopped our ferry back to Krabi to take another bus to Surat Tani, so we could get on our 9-hr night ferry to Koh Tao. And I use the term ...
Ko Phi Phi Don, Thailand wally09... that when I was planning for the trip one day then suddenly Philip popped up in my MSN window, and so, I "dragged" them along to be my ...
Phuket, Thailand princesscheryl... and a DVD player, a backyard with a open walled hut to sit down in, and Wi -Fi (high speed Internet). The price per month is 5000 Baht, which equals to about 145.00 USD. Unbelievable price, and seems too good to be true. It turns out it is. This place has no ****ing air-conditioning. We are freaking out about this, but it turns out after the sun goes down and it gets later in the night, the air cools down and is easier to deal with. The bungalow ...
