... lots of back and forth talk between Igor and the women. In the midst of it the woman behind the far desk motioned me over and offered me some of the tiny copper-green grapes sitting in a plastic bag on her desk. They were very sweet.

... the first time it felt that we were really on our way. We drove south and a little east toward our initial destination, Berehove. This was the administrative center of the small district around Shalanki, which lay 30 km to the east. As we approached the town we saw tiny stands, or sometimes just an old metal stool, displaying a pyramid of apples or a few onions or some potatoes. Maramuresz to z kolei kraina drewna. Tutaj przeważają kościoły całe z drewna. Duzo jest tez rzeźbionych, drewnianych bram przed domami. I jeszcze zdobione na zewnątrz domy.

Po drodze w kierunku Polski (no raczej Węgier) zatrzymaliśmy się przy drewnianej cerkwi św.św. Archaniołów w Rozavlea (Biserica Sf. Arhangheli) ...
