    One day to go..

... 40 it's Llandudno and by 50 it's the horrors of The Chelsea Flower Show (spare me please) A bit has changed since Every Han. I'm in a relationship now and a graduate. Two years of student loans and full time nightshift work means moneywise I'm better than before, despite having spent literally thousands this year.

In Every Han I experienced one of the coldest cities on earth, this time I'm eating my way through one of the hottest (not Eindhoven!)

... the Romans' building ability and especially their underfloor heating and drainage. We visited Housesteads this morning where we actually walked on Hadrian's wall. The highlight of this visit was however, spotting a badger out of his burrow and we have a photo to prove it. Apparently badgers are nocturnal so we were very lucky. It raining and almost blizzard conditions when we arrive and very difficult to find accommodation, Eventually we get some and then rooms had to change because wifi wouldn't work, Enjoyed some nice fish and chips int he new ...

... our specs have arrived so we can collect them on Monday. Jim and I then had a meeting to discuss our onwards itinerary. As we want to be in Nottingham on July 14th Jim suggested we go north into Scotland until then and leave our visit to Ireland until after that date so we can spend longer there, probably until mid September. All for now, we are going to drive into Seahouses and see if we can post this blog and get online to send emails.

    The flooded road to Newcastle

... parked up in the custom shed awaiting entry onto the ship. Finally last onto the ship I have the usual bottleneck of climbing up five floors of stairs to my cabin. As per usual I booked this ferry well in advance but what I did not realise was that I had booked one of the very top cabins on the ship which was located on deck 10 and in Comodor plus. This cabin is simply massive with everything you could ever want on a ship. It feels more like a luxury cruise ship than ...
