Found another great beach to spend some time. We have. Had some technical difficulties so haven't been blogging much. Just golfing and enjoying the sunshine. This really is an amazing place if you love the beach. The food is good in all the restaurants too. Some times the menu is a bit too English for my taste but lots of Local Portuguese fare as well. It was time for our lunch in the forest, featuring the typical foods of the Alentejo (highlands) region. The guides knew a secluded spot along a creek, that was just perfect. ... all sizes and vintages, and were very LOUD. Kinda fun! After lunch we made a visit to the Pousada in town. These are historical buildings that the government chose to preserve by turning them into luxury hotels starting in the 1940's. All of them are lovely, and this one is no exception. Our guides treated us to typical Portuguese desserts out on the terrace.

Our next stop was in Tavira, very near the Spanish border, for lunch. Our guides chose a shady spot at an outdoor café on the river, and insisted that we try the local specialites, grilled sardines and grilled octopus.
