Puerto Vallarta, Pacific Coast, Mexico orion.a... with tropical trees. The first decline dropped us about 500m in a 5km. By the bottom the truck brakes were smoking. The next decline was for 20km and very windy. With an adjustment of the trailer brakes and some engine braking the brakes stayed coolish. We arrived in San Francisco, San Pancho, in the early afternoon and met up with Tam. He escorted us through the small town and out to the Hacienda de Plantatae y Tamo. The ...
Puerto Vallarta, Pacific Coast, Mexico mcginlaysOk I know there is going to miscommunications between people but this one was big. I'm not going to go into detail but a 3 hour bus rid to hang out with some friends for the night turned into a 10 hour ride jammed in a suv with 7 others to go to a WEDDING! Ok, I don't have any nice cloths with me and I wasn't planning on 10 hours in a car. At least I got some free food.
Culiacan, Mexico macrosse1After exiting the ferry we did not know exactly how far we would be able to go before nightfall. The ferry was about an hour and a half delayed so we pulled out at about 3:30pm and were aiming for Mazatlan over 300 miles away. It soon became clear that we won't make it to Mazatlan before nightfall, even with Jess driving too fast (in my opinion)... we had to find a hotel in a town called Culiacan, which is the state capital of Sinaloa. Again we were hot, hungry ...
Culiacan, Mexico jessandmalin... the door step (that looked lilke an accordion) but we... Ian... managed to repair everything with a good old hammer. The park was built around a lagoon and was a fairly extensive water park and villas complex. We noticed many beautiful birds and the funniest thing. We were there in a huge fenced park all alone with the overnight security guard. Bon, enough for this one! Bye people, Eugie
Culiacan, Mexico bohemianeugJanuary 17 - 18 The winds were high and out of the north, with whitecaps in the bay of La Paz when we boarded the ferry and set off across the Sea of Cortez. Our kind ticket-seller from two days before managed to find a junior suite to upgrade us, so we had a king-sized bed, a small TV viewing room - whose TV didn't work - and a large bathroom, plus dinner and breakfast, all included in the price of the crossing. We went up to top deck to watch the departure ...
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Mexico spocream... since we left California. A family consisting of a Mother, Father and their two daughters aging 5 and 7 made friends with us, and helped us alot through many of the bus changes we had to make, to ensure our backpack followed us on the same bus. We've so far found Mexican people to be very lovely. Every where I go in these ...
Culiacan, Mexico clintonbFirst off, i´ve added some photos in! In log number 6 theres a few from Canada, which should have been under the niagra falls entry but i cant be bother to change it now. Check them out! Well im down in Acapulco now. Traveling on buses and undergrounds with a hangover isnt good but i made it here in the end. The wrestling turned out to be ok but not that amazing, we were right at the back as well which didnt help. I think the main ...
Acapulco, Mexico chalk... the corner. The restaurant was lavishly furnished and large oil paintings form local artists adorned the walls. It was very cool just getting to the table and settling in. Now it was time for the real challenge...making sure our order would be covered by the $100 gift certificate that we had. We mulled over the wine list, picked our appetizers and our entrees. With some quick math completed we left ourselves $40 for wine and some ...
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico mikeandger... Jays cap; I told him that I used to play for them and asked if he wanted me to sign it, but he said he didn't want to wreck it 3) In Zacatecas there was a teenage kid wearing a Philadelphia Eagles Bobby Hoying jersey; Bobby Hoying started maybe a dozen games in his career there, really sucked, and I think he retired 4) Completely opposite my expectations, all buses leave exactly on time (to my chagrin when leaving Puerto Vallarta), and I ...
