... it got too hot, the next morning, but in reality we didn't get out the door until after 10am, which is when the hotel stopped serving breakfast. It was also Sunday, so nothing was open. We went for a walk along the Venetian wall and hopped down, when we saw a place open, to grab an iced coffee and some doughnuts. The Highlander was quite empty and cold (maybe to go with the theme) so Gemma and I left and went window shopping ...

... the noisy flying object! Our photos done, we take the opportunity to have a relaxing morning coffee at a local cafe while taking in the panoramic view. We are then taken to nearby Thira/Fira, the main town where our Tour director Lisa suggests two directions to take in our free time - either up to the town square or around to the cathedral. We first decide to go to the town square, wending up and around buildings on our right, and magnificent vistas ...

... Once we ditched out bags we basically hit the pool for the remainder of the evening.

After our breakfast the next morning we enquired about hiring quads or scooters to get around the islands. Everyone seems to do it and it looked like heaps of fun. In the end we opted for the quad as we were told we'd have a better chance at escaping serious injury or death over the scooter. After the safety briefing we took off down the road, I just had to concentrate ...
