The Mekong Delta Day 1: Snake Themed

Today we left urban Ho Chi Minh City for the rural Mekong Delta. Back on the bus we spent time watching the numerous near misses between mopeds and marvelling at what can be carried on such a vehicle. The traffic in Saigon (and Vietnam as a whole!) is truly manic. He left with the piece encapsulated in a thick gray PVC pipe, cradling ...

... advertised (so even once we had arrived, we were unsure if we were in fact in the correct place). From there we were herded into a bus that was far above it's passenger capacity, and continuously stoppping throughout town to pick up more people! After a few hours drive, we got to My Tho. We were shocked to realise it was practically a ghost town, and by town I mean a few buildings and a dirt road. Thinking we weren't there yet, we decided to stay ...

    Hi again folks!
Well, it's nearly 6am on Wednesday morning and, unbelievably, most of the team are up and showering reading for a 6.30am breakfast. Why won't they do this at home you ask...?! The roosters started at 1am.........we'll let that sink in for a minute...! Could be a long day!
So, after breakfast we're off for a bike ride around the village (go ...
