      ... two items from the menu. Chinese rice noodles are difficult to move from the main plate to your small bowl so Rick had some extra help from the waitress who must have thought we Westerners were like small children. The beef with vegetables was delicious, full of tomatoes and so just for Sheila! The refreshing towelettes were amazingly cold as they came straight from the freezer good is that! And all for 7 ...we were satisfied. Happy birthday Rick.

      A very early start, on the boat for 630am to head out to the Ca Bae floating markets. We had breakfast on the boat, there were 5 of us on the tour so not too bad at all. The boat ride was cool, we passed houses and villages on the edge of the water, baz showed me where he ran to last night. Children waved as they passed us on their boats shouting hello. It was lovely. What wasnt so lovely though, were the markets... It was ...

      After checking in to our mango coloured hotel we went out in search of new Vietnamese food. After realising the our idea of learning a few key words for foods in Vietnamese was doomed due to the same words meaning completely different things depending on… god knows! We finally ducked into an alley were locals seemed to be flocking and sat ourselves down at the busiest eatery we could find. With no menu and no English speaking people around ...

      ... the skinniest people on the bus were finding the bus ride a little cosy! It was a good opportunity to view the countryside down south before hoping on a long boat for a look around the local floating markets. Given the lateness of the morning, the hustle and bustle we were hoping to see wasn't quite happening, it was interesting none the less and another look at Vietnamese life. We saw the Cai Be markets...this is a local market ...
