Day 188 We just couldn't wake up this morning, eventually emerging from the van when most of our fellow campers/motellers were well and truly up. Still in our pyjamas, we ambled over to the kitchen for breakfast and for a mint tea, using leaves from the 'help yourself' camp garden. Parked what I thought be a quit place at the Marina Pier only to be awaked the Night Crew of Fishermen preparing their Lobster-vessel in the middle of the night.... considered to relocate but did not felt like getting out my warm sleeping Bad and fell asleep again only to awake again to much more noise now when they where trowing their Lobster Cages around .... drove to other side of the Bay and had a good sleep there. Woke up sliding ...
... loved being up in the clouds looking down at the splendour below. We finished our day with yet another DOC camp site for the night, only this time opting for one slightly further out than “Rick’s” in the hope of a free night. The next morning we awoke to 3 loud bangs on the camper door… the sheriff had got us again. Well played Rick, well played.
Today We Learnt:
There are no free camps on Ricks watch
... must be a little warped. But we spent 45 min going through the bus and the "Fine Acts of Junk" outside pushing buttons and turning cranks to see what would happen. What a fun place, especially on a dreary day.
We got to Purakaunui Falls just before 1:00 and spent 15 min walking out to the falls and back. They were very pretty but too darn big to fit in the whole thing in the picture.
