    We have a long sleepless night. Allen is sure there is something more going on than just his back. The pain in his left thigh is excruciating and spasms whenever he sits up or stands. We return to the hospital. The Doctor thinks he has a small tear in his thigh muscle in addition to the back pain. The pills for one are good for the other. We are told he should stay off it, rest for a few days and ice the thigh 3 times a day. ...

    Coinbra is a very old city. It was liberated from the Moors in 1064 and made capital of Portugal by King Afonso Henriques in 1139. The capital was moved to Lisbon in 1256 and the University founded in 1290. It is the 3rd oldest University in Europe.

    ... shoes and even jackets. The church is lovely with lots of gold in the chapel and walls of blue and white tile. Unfortunately I left my phone being charged in the hotel so no pictures!! We have lunch in the square near the hotel. This time we try cockles. They are very tiny mussels cooked in butter with sliced garlic and they are delicious!
