    ... day so we surfaced late before setting off to walk around the old town. Portugal (and Spain for that matter) doesn't start to move until about 10 o' clock and sure enough from 10 onwards the shutters on the shop windows began to go up and the city showed signs of waking up.

    ... we hired bikes to ride to the beach. Unfortunately Portos beaches are nothing on Australia's but on the plus side cocktails on the beach are cheap and like in Spain they pour spirits loosely freehand so cocktails were rocket fuel for the ride back to town. As like your typical tourists we did sights, got lost, got offered marijuana, spent too much and where overwhelmed by the smell of salted cod in supermarkets. Love B ...

    ... get out at the top of the town at the University and then walk down and found the town and then back across a footbridge over the Mondego river to the Hotel. We go to the pool to recover from our hike. We have dinner at the hotel which is very good. We have reserved and are put at a table by a waiter.     ... we found a beautiful beach and spent some time there and about 1 km inland there is a lovely site which appears to have been closed and is now being refurbished. For €19.00 and all the facilities it was good value and will be better once more work is finished.

    After a whirlwind tour of the Evora Cathedral and the Chapel of Bones. We head to the Roman ruins We had to collapse the van's mirrors on some of the streets in Evora to ensure that we could drive through the streets. It was a three hour drive north to Conimbriga.
