Setting out early at 6 am in the cold December morning - sleepy and caffeine deprived from Cupertino, we hoped to catch the glorious sunset at the Mesquite Dunes. Little did we know what was in store for us distance-wise. Google Maps assured us of a drive time of 7 hours and 49 minutes - that's child's play, we thought.

... We ate breakfast and then waited around until our tour bus shuttle came to get us. The shuttle took us through San Francisco to lick up other people, so we saw just about every other part of San Fran, including some incredibly seedy areas. Once we got to our tour office, we got in line for our bus, waited, then got loaded onto a very nice coach bus. We had a lovely tour, but our tour guide was very annoying. The day has finally arrived.
I've been on the cusp of excitement and nerves the entire week, and to think my flight is in a couple hours is a bit surreal. I honestly don't know what to expect, but I think that's probably for the best. It's also really odd to think how long I'll be there, but at the same time I can't wait to be in another country and have so many different opportunities to travel, try new food (probably the most important) meet new people and get to be at ...
... or the other. The traveling and sightseeing is fun but the hotel-hopping is exhausting! I really can't complain, though. I sure can't wait to get my paycheck and get my budget back in order.
