      Setting out early at 6 am in the cold December morning - sleepy and caffeine deprived from Cupertino, we hoped to catch the glorious sunset at the Mesquite Dunes.       The day has finally arrived.

      I've been on the cusp of excitement and nerves the entire week, and to think my flight is in a couple hours is a bit surreal.       Arriving in LA from Hawai'i we rented a big jeep and drove straight to Santa Cruz near San Francisco. If we would have done a little homework we could have flown straight to SF instead of LA. To save us a long drive. But it was not like we had to get up early next day, so we drove there in 6 hours straight. If you are going to be dumb you better be tough.
