... we need to be in Morocco by the 18th Dec as Kim promised me I would have surfing on my birthday - yay!!!! Then we have Hayden and Gill joining us for Christmas in Marrakesh - whoo hoo! It was text message city in Scooby this morning as we got another text this time from Gill in London giving us the fantastic news that I had been accepted as a British citizen. I had lodged my papers before we left London but did not expect to hear so soon as processing times can be up to 6 months!
Grosseto, Tuscany, Italy darrenhough74... hot soak was for our still achey muscles the rotten egg smell was hard for Kim to bear. She was able to block her nose and only breathe through her mouth so she did not gag - poor thing. A new item appeared on the menu tonight - delicious Tuscan pork and chicken sausages (the best ever!) with cous cous ala Gill, all washed down with a local sparkling Rose - yum!!!!! We thought we would have leftovers but no they were so good we gobbled up all 10!

Punta Ala, Italy jpsaby... walk up the hill each day to get supplies from the little shops. We happily drink the farm's wine and cook with their olive oil while looking out the window at the vines and trees they came from. What a life. We did manage to get to San Gimignano one day and wander the streets (and climb the bell tower of course) of this fascinating old castle town. Now refreshed we are heading on for Pisa, Turin and Paris.
Radicondoli, Tuscany, Italy journeaux... in a beautiful vineyard, and that was REALLY fun. The weather was also warm and sunny so we lucked out yet again. I took some good pictures so I'll be sure and post them soon! OH, we did see the actual sword in the stone while we were there. It was quite small so it wasn't as exciting as I had hoped, but it was still pretty cool. I guess that's all for now. Next weekend is Sorrento!
Murlo, Tuscany, Italy eowens2... was sometimes German, sometimes Italian, which was a bit confusing, but all in all as wonderful an experience as Dave and I hoped it would be. It was 1 am before we got home - way past our bedtime - but I took advantage of the time difference to call the Pinkertons. I've been having grandbaby withdrawals, with two Saturdays having gone by and not talking to them. On my last cell phone, I used "The Magic ...
Chiusdino, Tuscany, Italy txnonna... I both forgot our phrase books, so our waiter took off first thing to find someone with a smattering of English, and somehow our meal got ordered with very little idea of what we were going to wind up with. You'd think by now I would remember what most of the menu items are, but no... Of course it was all delicious; we got caught up in the game with everyone else, and had a great time. Another memorable experience in Nonna and Boppa's Italian Adventure!
Chiusdino, Tuscany, Italy txnonna... before you know it, I'm happily chopping, stirring, and simmering. The end result is a pot of pasta e fagioli soup, bread to sop it up, and pears with cheese for dessert. Not too shabby, if I may say so! And to top that off?? We bought tea today, and I made some iced tea (there's one tiny ice cube tray in the refrigerator), the first we've had since leaving Texas. Nectar from the gods!!
Chiusdino, Tuscany, Italy txnonna... are. After a short stroll through the city centre, we came back to this place. In the afternoon we departed for Lucca, to see its city centre and nice churches. On our way back, we stopped in Pistoia to see the buildings from white and green marble in the city centre.
