A very quiet and peaceful evening, blessed with no midges as it was cold but this made the skies clearer and the light and colours spectacular. We walked a little, enjoyed our evening meal with some wine and a good, long sleep. En route to Tampere now for a look see and perhaps a shop before we find somewhere for the night, we shall see! I was well early at Heathrow so I decided to go and look at the new terminal 2 and it's famous piece of art. I found this a bit underwhelming as there was nowhere from where you could get a good view. Everything was so close that you could only ever see the trees and never the wood.

... freezing water. On my first go I hesitated before getting in the water, but then there were people standing behind me waiting to get in so I had to get in. After a few trips back and forth from the sauna to the water I got better at it. By the last go I was able to do panicky doggy paddles in the water before getting out. Today I tried the oldest sauna in Finland today, Rajaportti sauna (over 100 ...

It was really awesome getting to know the base leaders, Roope & Sanna-Maria. They invited us to join them one beautiful day for a gorgeous bbq lunch at their families Summer home, perfectly situated on one of Lake Evijärvis many islands. It was a truly wonderful time exchanging stories, enjoying sauna, great food and getting to know them better. We were thoroughly inspired by their relationship with each other...and even more so ...
