    Friday saw us catching up on a few things. I worked on Travelpod and Neville flushed out the waste water tanks and gave Tilly a clean as there was plenty of water at the hotel.

    On Saturday I had to have a urine test done to make sure there was no infection. Everything was fine. The St Isaac's Cathedral was nearby so we had a look inside and climbed up to the Colonnade for some wonderful views over the city. Then we took a bus ...

    ... forests dotted with farmhouses painted rufous with white trimmings. It appears to be the colour pattern of Scandinavian countryside cottages. The colour was discovered in the copper mines of Sweden and unintentionally is an excellent preserver.

    ... edge, and we had another great sunset. That was the one place where we could have gotten real Finnish food at the restaurant, because the girl offered to cook for us. When I looked up what she was going to cook, it turned out to be salmon, which is what we had bought for ourselves to cook anyway. Oh well.......ours turned out very nice anyway.     ... 2 people had a job selling a ticket to nothing and tearing it in half!

    But the view from Olaf’s Tower in Vyborg Castle in to die for, round and round the tower we went, overlooking water, city, bridges, gardens, army helicopters, you name it, you can see it from there. It was a strong hold as defense against invasion to St Petersburg, and many relics have been dug up from the riverbed of canons and other militaria. .
