... outside, bit weird). I was slightly less lucky with the dishwasher and it was only after *cough* amount of time that I finally saw a small on/off lever type thing on the tap (in my defense, it is part of the tap fittings, not something I have ever seen before, and very small) which magically let the water into the dishwasher to clean all the dishes. Whilst I was not understanding the Finnish dishwasher Lisa kept herself entertained by hoovering and mopping the floor! I ...
Lahti, Southern Finland, Finland samlisaCan't really say much about today as all we really did was travel further south. The scenery pretty much remained unchanged and that was pretty much it. The campsite we stayed at had a really pretty lake and was really nice just to hang out at late in the afternoon.
Onwards south the next morning...
Jyväskylä, Western Finland, Finland alanna.hollowayToday we went to Jyvaskyla (which we named J-town for simplicity). That really is about all there is to report as it was a long day of driving along straight, tree lined roads. Highlights include watching Team America on the bus, and kicking a soccer ball around at a petrol station during a driver break.
Jyväskylä, Western Finland, Finland marksadventures... and smoky-er? You had to avoid touching the walls because the soot would get
all over you. We decided to do as the Finns would, so after being in the sauna until we
were unbearably hot, We ran out onto the dock and jumped into the ice-cold lake water. It
was seriously one of the most exhilirating experiences, so I preceded to do it again and
again :) After the sauna we had a bonfire (of course) and ate grilled makkara (Finnish <br ...
Jyväskylä, Western Finland, Finland lvtran... out on the town. So we headed into the centre for some Karaoke at Freetime... I may have sang one... or two duets... George Michael and Britneys Spears... oh dear. We left at around 3 am and went to grab some food at the "Grilli" I had some traditional Finnish french fries, meatballs, lettuce and toppings that I shared with Kayi (HK), I'm sure it would have been disgusting if I wasn't starving at 3 am.
On Wednesday, it was really rainy and cold outside, but I still ...
Jyväskylä, Western Finland, Finland lvtran... loved them.
The next day we had a "pub crawl" but it was actually more of a pub tour haha. We met in front of the library and walked over to Harju in the city centre of Jyväskylä. In essence it is like a large hill of forest in the heart of the city with a very tall clock tower you can go up and get a panoramic view of the city, I am pretty sure i talked about going here in my last entry. Anyhow, there's also a terrace and bar up here, so we just sat around and ...

Kotka, Southern Finland, Finland travellerhansWhen does a matter of principle become an obsession? When you fly half way across the world, pay $95(AUS), and stand for one and a half hours waiting so you can be in the third row, and of course, behind two tall guys. *sigh* Ok, so the main reason I went to Provinssi Rock was to see HIM (A Finnish Band, often internationally associated with Bam Margera, of CKY, Jackass, Skateboarding Brand 'Element' fame.) They came to Australia and I had tickets but I had to work (the ...
Seinäjoki, Finland wandering_bugFour hours later, we realized that we had only seen a small part of this world-famous estate of Peter the Great...but our energy was at an ebb...time to renew at Che with a revisit to the flamenco beat of Flamma...Cuban drummer Ibel was sensational...sitting on a "Cajon" and at times his hands couldn't be seen, they were beating so fast!
