... is where the fun started and stopped... Our supposed 2 hours back to Shanghai turned into over 4 hours, most of which was crawling through traffic. Having spent over 8 hours travelling the day before and an hour already that day, we all agreed the 13 hours of travel was nowhere near made up for by the sites - plus we had to leave the glorious Pudi Boutique Hotel!! It was weird to have paid good money for 2 days I wouldn't re-experience for free. ...

Went to meet Stephen at the Wyndham Hotel at midday and went to the Nanchang Historic Cultural Street, which was full of craft shops and food stalls. We had a lovely afternoon wandering around and then decided to stop at a family run restaurant for a beer. We got served with a gallon tap and the lady who owned the restaurant introduced herself to us. ...

What a little stunner. This city was not on our radar but we are so pleased that we came. Our hotel is right by the lake and a large area of parkland. Dad and I decided to wander around the park a little after our breakfast. The place was both vibrant and relaxing. Locals were out and about for their morning stroll. We watched a woman dancing gracefully, purely for the joy of it. It was a great way to start ...

    Travelling day

A travel blog entry by jaq123 on May 15, 2015

Today we left Guilin and headed to Hangzhou. Being just a 2.5hr flight away it shouldn't be too difficult, but it was not to be so. Due to torrential rain in Guilin our flight was delayed and we ended spending 10 hours in a small local airport with many many others. There was not a seat to be spared as people continued to arrive and no-one left. Signage at the airport was useless as it showed only flights from the day before, and none of ...
