... promenade and it was 6.30 pm but still very hot. We weren't impressed with this town. Very commercialised with lots of ugly accommodation for the tourists and dirty streets in just behind the sea. We enjoyed our bike ride with the cooler ocean breeze and headed back to make dinner at around 8pm. Now I know why they have dinner so late. Its too hot to eat any sooner. Just one night here and tomorrow we are back in France and heading for ...

We'd been told there was to be a fireworks display at 10pm so we sat on the beach after watching everyone enjoy themselves at the local fiesta up the beach. ... what seemed to be yet another col. After about 40 Kms along the coast we headed inland and spent most of the rest of the day travelling through farmers fields. It was very hot and we had difficulty finding a place to eat, but when we did, one of the patrons kindly came over to translate for us. Must say fresh melon in this part of the world is outstanding. The only negative note about today, other than the heat, is that the coastal road is very busy with ...

... on the road (i.e. not just those in our group), and as the morning wore on both traffic and temperature heated up.

The terrain was ideal for me - scenic, challenging (ups) and fun (downs) - and I stopped many times for photos. Each time I did, though, the pent up muscle heat and lack of effective wind due to my being stationary resulted in huge waves of sweat pouring off me. And ...
