    ... they show the most wonderful swirls of erosion and then there are the entrances to 2 secret chambers constructed for WW2 but never used. Outside one of them is a beautiful carving of the Swiss eagle emblem – all this was done on the opposite side to the walkway, meaning that the constructors & carvers had to work suspended from platforms.

    After 5 days in Shanghai with no internet, we,re at the airport ready for our flight to Zurich. We are all well, concerts have gone good, food has been plentiful. The Tropenhaus (English: Tropic House) in Frutigen, Switzerland is a commercial project using geothermal energy from hot water flowing out of the Lötschberg rail tunnel for the production of exotic fruit, sturgeon meat and caviar in a tropical greenhouse in the Swiss alps (from Wikipedia).

    After breakfast we walked up to the forest again for some exercise.

    Then the family took us to Rhine Falls an impressive waterfall about 30 minutes from Zurich (5 SF each).

    It was then off to Katrins house for Xmas dinner, which was a bit hit with Shareen. We had a traditional Swiss dish of potatoes and melted cheese (Raclette). You had to put the cheese on a special little platter under a grill to melt it, then scoop it onto the potatoes - yum ...
