We're headed to St. Louis but it's too long to make in one leg so we are taking a pit stop in Springfield Missouri. We were off quickly in the morning and back on the road around 8:30. Our first stop was in Wetherford Oklahoma. Wetherford is known for their large wind turbine farm and they have kindly setup an interpretive display including a real wind turbine blade on display. We know at times we will be out of our comfort zone ~ no ice, no diet soda, no "American" food, possibly an older crowd on our tour, and Facebook/Google/Yahoo/etc are blocked in China so this blog may be the only way to keep in touch with family while we are away. We consider those little nuisances and have high hopes of having a magnificent experience. We have a year to plan and dream. I am BEYOND EXCITED!!
I started my day with a bike ride. Today was just wind sprints. I rode for a ½ hour and got in 6 miles. Achieved my goal of averaging at least 12
I did not go on a long ride because my grandson, and
namesake, Timothy, wanted me to pick him up at school at 11:30. Got to the house and gave my son a birthday
hug. I am so glad that I was able to be
here to help him celebrate his 40th birthday.
