... Monument first, the girls "ran" the majority of the way. Past the World War 2 memorial situated at the bottom of the Reflection Pool, (it too was under refurbishment) and on up the hill to the bottom of the fenced Monument. Hayley's gorilla arms technically touched the fence first, but their bodies were in the exact same distance to the finish line, so graciously they shared the prize money.

Today we had a different plan of attack, bearing in mind just how cold we were previously we rugged up even more. I started my day at the gym - no one there again, what's wrong with these people? It's unusual for a hotel to have such a great facility & fully equipped! No one probably cares, but I did find this amazing new piece of equipment that I haven't used before!! ... way back to the hotel later on. Walking up further, I made my way to the new Martin Luther King Jr memorial which is just amazing! I was very impressed with it! It is gigantic but so life-like and really nice to see a memorial of a non-President who has created a great deal of change just so the current President could have his job.
