      Made it safely through Dubai Airport. Although it was weird getting a train from the A380 terminal to the baggage area. It then took me about 20 minutes to get the slot for SIM cards open on my iPhone! Everyone speaks English which is nice.

      ... go to the Carrefour, but you load up and back home you discover that you have forgotten the water.

      Also decided to assemble the bike (remember the big box...) and take it for a ride. Not too many cyclists though. Felt great, but this is clearly not the routes I'm used to. I'll need to get myself informed on where to ride.

      ... the front gates, and I was rather disappointed that we only got to see the Palm resort hotel as we rounded the corner to carry on to the mosque. I think perhaps the best way to see that would be to fly over it in a helicopter. Grassy areas here are at a premium and there are very few parks.
