    Arrived in Dubai yesterday at 7pm having lost 11 hours on the trip from Seattle. Went out for a nice dinner near the Burj Khalifa and watched the lights and fountains. This morning we went for a walk on the beach walking track at Jumairah beach but as we weren't able to carry water due to Ramadan we did not go far as it was very hot. Kelvin and Debs took us for drive around Dubai looking at the buildings ...

    ... get to their chosen viewpoint at about 5.30pm and then just drank until the chosen hour, David and I quickly came to the conclusion that the order of everyday in Dubai is eating and drinking...a lot! The witching hour was with us and the fireworks were breathtaking and amazing, must have cost a fortune...oh I forgot money doesn't seem to be in short supply here.     ... areas and a full size ice rink! I was really surprised to see all of our shops, honestly if you didn't know any different you could of quite easily been in the UK. Biggest surprise was the largest Mackays I've ever seen, Matty couldn't believe it when I pointed out that the same shop as in Otley bus station. I don't think I could ever get used to seeing and M&S, Debenhams, Waitrose, River Island etc it just doesn't seem right to travel all this way and feel ...
