    ... dear life. Her heart was racing so much that I could feel it pounding when I lifted her! Meanwhile, Rowan was so frightened by Elodies response that he also started panic and burst into tears. It took a good while for everyone’s blood pressure to return to normal, that’s for sure!

    Kids crashed out so we walked round the Marina for a while, settled on falafel for dinner and had an early night in our loft ...

    ... had clearly taken a wrong turn somewhere and now had to walk through the mall. Finally out the back we were in an open space looking over a small mariner. We accepted it and sat to order our coffee. The boys were thrilled to see one of those fountains in the ground and started running through them happily playing only to have a stern telling off from the security guard and it was a first realisation that "we're not in Africa anymore!" Even the attitude in Dubai ...

    ... when I arrived in the Mall I came across a section which is just purely for kids, i mean this place is a 12 years old paradise!, full of toy shops and even has a massive theme park with its own roller coaster and a crazy amount of toys!. Once i'd learnt how to read the signs (i blame the jet lag), i managed to find the Aquarium, with everything the way it is in Dubai i wasn't expecting a small fish tank and i wasn't wrong, it had bloody great ...

    ... In the evening we went to the Dubai Mall. This is a very popular mall with all the top designers and labels as well as a ski slope and ice skating rink (as you do in the desert).
