I had done my research and it didn't indicate that Canadians needed a visa prior to arrival, but when I was checking into my flight the woman at the counter asked me again if I was sure.     I'm pretty sure my trip has begun in the most opulent and extravagant way possible.. Dubai! The bar has most definitely been set for the rest of the trip...     ... see the Burj - then we transfer into a coach bus. The tour guide was an immigrant from Portugal, on a working visa.     ... and immigration after declared goods were inspected and we waited for our shuttle driver to contact us - he had contacted us while we were waiting for our bags and we told him maybe another 15 mins or so. We set off walking to the Shuttle Bus area and found him and were soon on our way.
